Custom Software Development in Montreal
Custom software is for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, generic tools and manual workarounds. If your team in Montreal re-enters the same data twice a day, waits on a vendor to add one field, or runs a process nobody can automate, you are our typical client. We work with small and mid-size companies across Quebec and Canada.
DaniMaster designs, builds and maintains the software you actually need: web applications, mobile apps, SaaS products, integrations, automations and dashboards. We run our own products in production, so we know what keeps software working after launch. You get one accountable team and code you own.
What we build
Our core service is Bespoke software solutions: applications designed around your process. Around that core we offer Software consulting to decide what to build and what to buy, Software project management so scope, budget and dates stay visible, Software testing and QA before anything reaches users, Software maintenance and support after launch, Legacy software modernization for systems that still work but hold you back, and Enterprise software development for larger teams with roles, approvals and audit trails.
Our specialties:
- Web application development: browser-based tools for daily operations.
- Mobile app development: iOS and Android apps for customers or field staff.
- SaaS development: subscription products with billing and admin consoles.
- MVP development for startups: a first version in weeks.
- API development and integration: systems that share data on their own.
- Business process automation: fewer repeated manual steps.
- Booking system development: scheduling, reminders and payments.
- Customer portal development: self-service accounts for clients.
- E-commerce development: stores built for Canadian taxes.
- CRM development: pipelines fitted to your sales process.
- Cybersecurity services: reviews and hardening of what you run.
- Dashboard development: one view of the numbers that matter.
- Chatbot and AI agent development: assistants that answer, route and act.
How we work
Every project follows six steps.
Discovery. We meet in Montreal or on a call and map the process you want to improve: who uses the software, what they do today and what has to change. You get a short scope document with a fixed price or a clear estimate.
Design. We sketch screens and data flows before writing code, and you review them in plain language. Changing a sketch is cheap. Changing a finished feature is not.
Build. We work in cycles of one to two weeks. At the end of each cycle you see working software.
Test. We test real scenarios from your business on real devices and browsers, and fix what breaks before you see it.
Launch. We deploy to hosting you control, hand over credentials and documentation, and train your team.
Support. After launch we monitor, patch and improve, on a monthly plan or as needed. You own the code and the accounts from day one.
Projects we have built and run
We build and operate our own products, which keeps us honest about what works in production.
FacilInvoice (facilinvoice.ca) is a bilingual invoicing SaaS for Canadian freelancers and small businesses. We built its Stripe subscription billing, a multi-province tax engine for GST, HST, QST and PST, PDF invoices, promo codes and an admin console. Its Interac e-Transfer reconciliation reads payment notices from a per-business forwarding inbox, checks they are authentic and matches them to open invoices automatically.
BizLocal (bizlocal.ca) is a French-first business directory for Quebec and Canada with about 49,000 businesses in 336 categories. We built the quote-request funnel that routes leads to matching businesses, partner billing, Odoo CRM sync and the geocoding of more than 23,000 addresses from open data.
ClearCall is an accessible calling app with live captions for deaf and hard-of-hearing users.
For several brands we connect Odoo 17 and ERPNext as the central ledger and CRM through their APIs, and we run a monthly automated security review of every domain we operate.
What custom software costs and how long it takes
Prices depend on scope. These are honest ranges in Canadian dollars, not quotes.
- A focused automation or integration: $3,000 to $12,000, two to four weeks.
- An MVP or first version of a product: from $8,000, four to eight weeks.
- A typical custom web application with accounts, roles and reporting: $15,000 to $60,000, two to five months.
- A SaaS product with billing, admin tools and public signup: $40,000 and up, four to eight months.
- Maintenance and support: from $500 per month.
What moves the price is the number of distinct screens and workflows, the systems we must integrate with, and how much data has to be migrated.
We quote fixed prices for well-defined scopes and hourly rates for research-heavy work. Before any project we tell you what we would cut to meet a budget, and what we would not cut because it would cost more later. Larger projects can be phased so you pay as each part goes live.
Why a Montreal software partner
Here is what a Montreal team gives you that a distant one usually cannot.
Bilingual by default. We write software in French and English, including interfaces, emails, invoices and error messages. French-first products like BizLocal are our normal work, not a translation step at the end.
Quebec and Canadian rules built in. We know how GST, HST, QST and PST apply to invoices and online sales. We build with Law 25 privacy obligations in mind: consent records, data inventories, access requests and incident procedures. We can host your data in Canada on request.
Same time zone. When something breaks at 9 a.m. Eastern, we are awake and working. Meetings happen during your business day, in person in Montreal if you prefer.
Canadian payments. Stripe, Interac e-Transfer and Canadian bank flows are part of what we build every week.
One accountable team. The people who scope your project are the people who build and support it.
Who custom software is for
Custom software is the right step in situations like these.
The spreadsheet that runs the company. A distributor tracks orders, stock and deliveries in a shared workbook that breaks when two people edit it. We replace it with a web application that keeps one version of the truth.
The tool that almost fits. A clinic uses a generic booking product but needs intake forms, Quebec health insurance fields and French reminders. We build a booking system that does exactly that.
The systems that do not talk. A services firm has a CRM, an accounting system and a website form, and staff copy data between them by hand. We connect them and remove the manual step.
If one of these sounds like your Montreal business, the next step is simple. Start with a free 30-minute call. We will tell you plainly whether custom software is the right fix, and what it would cost.

Do I own the code, the data and the hosting accounts?
Yes. Everything we build is delivered in a repository in your name, on servers and services registered to your company. There is no licence fee and no dependency on us to keep it running. If you later move to another team, you take the full system and documentation with you.
How do you keep a custom software project on budget?
We fix the scope before we fix the price, and we show working software every one to two weeks so surprises surface early. Changes are welcome, but each one is priced and traded against something else in scope. Research-heavy work is billed hourly with a cap you approve.
Can you take over software another developer built?
Yes, that is our legacy software modernization work. We start with a short audit of the code, hosting and security, then give you a written plan: stabilize first, then modernize in phases while the system keeps running. We work with PHP, Node.js, Python and the common databases.
What happens after launch if something breaks?
You choose a support plan or pay as you go. Either way, we monitor the application, keep dependencies patched and respond during Eastern business hours. Our monthly automated security review covers TLS, headers, exposed files, DNS and firewall settings, and we offer the same check for client systems.
