Web Application Development in Montreal

Web applications are for teams that need one tool that works in any browser, on any device, with no installs and a single login. If your Montreal business runs on spreadsheets, email threads and a generic product that almost fits, a custom web application replaces that mix with one system built around your process.

DaniMaster designs and builds web applications for small and mid-size businesses across Quebec and Canada. We handle the whole stack: database, back end, interface, hosting and security. We run our own web products in production, so we build for the day after launch. You own the code, the hosting and the data.

What we build

A web application is any software your team or customers use through a browser. We build these kinds most often:

Every project includes UI/UX design services. Before we write code we map the user's tasks, sketch screens and test the flow with the people who will use it. A tool staff adopt in a week beats one they quietly avoid.

Our stack is practical and widely supported: Node.js and Next.js or PHP on the server, TypeScript in the browser, PostgreSQL, MariaDB or SQLite for data, Docker and nginx for hosting, Cloudflare in front.

How we work

We follow six steps and show working software early.

Discovery. We interview the people who will use the application and watch how they work today. We list the screens, the data and the rules, then agree on a scope and a price.

Design. Clickable wireframes you can test before any code exists. We check them with two or three real users and adjust.

Build. One or two week cycles with a staging site you can open at any time. Each cycle delivers a usable slice.

Test. We test on the browsers and devices your team actually uses, including older phones, with your real data formats.

Launch. We deploy to a server or cloud account in your name, set up backups and monitoring, and train your staff in French or English.

Support. We keep the application patched and add features in small, priced increments, on a monthly plan or as needed.

Web applications we have built and run

Our own products are web applications.

BizLocal (bizlocal.ca) is a French-first directory of about 49,000 businesses in 336 categories across Quebec and Canada. Behind the public pages is a multi-tenant web application: business owners manage listings, a quote-request funnel routes leads to matching businesses, partners are billed, and records sync to Odoo CRM. Its maps run on more than 23,000 addresses we geocoded from open data.

FacilInvoice (facilinvoice.ca) is a bilingual invoicing application for Canadian freelancers and small businesses. It runs Stripe subscriptions, a multi-province tax engine for GST, HST, QST and PST, PDF generation, promo codes and an admin console. Its Interac e-Transfer reconciliation matches incoming payment notices to invoices after authenticity checks.

For client brands we build the web layers that sit on Odoo 17 and ERPNext, pushing invoices, leads and partner records through their APIs. We run a monthly automated security review of every domain we operate. Those are the habits we bring to your Montreal web application.

What a web application costs and how long it takes

Web application pricing depends on scope. These are honest ranges in Canadian dollars.

Cost drivers are the number of workflows, integrations with systems you already run, and data migration from old spreadsheets or databases. Design is included.

We give a fixed price for a fixed scope. If you need to hit a budget, we show you which features to defer to a second phase and why. Many Montreal clients launch a smaller first version, then fund the next phase from what they learn.

Why build your web application with a Montreal team

A local partner matters more for a web application than for a brochure website, because the application will be part of your daily operations for years.

Bilingual interfaces. We design and write French and English versions together, including validation messages, emails and PDF exports.

Law 25 and Canadian privacy. A web application stores personal information about customers and staff. We build consent records, role-based access, retention rules and access-request exports into the design, and we host in Canada on request.

Canadian taxes and payments. GST, HST, QST and PST logic, Stripe and Interac e-Transfer flows are routine for us.

Same hours. Our team works on Eastern time. If your staff cannot log in at 8 a.m., we are already looking at it. We can meet in person in Montreal for discovery and training.

Plain ownership. The repository, the server account and the domain are in your name from the first week.

Who needs a custom web application

These are the situations where a custom web application pays for itself.

The shared spreadsheet that broke. A Montreal wholesaler tracks orders and stock in a workbook that two people cannot edit at once. We replace it with a web application that keeps one record per order, with history, and still exports to Excel.

The portal customers keep asking for. A property manager fields the same calls about statements and repairs every day. A customer-facing application lets tenants log in, download documents and submit requests.

The product that outgrew no-code. A founder's no-code first version now costs more than a developer and cannot do what customers want. We rebuild it as a real web application, with the data migrated and the monthly no-code bill gone.

If one of these sounds familiar, the next step is simple. Start with a free 30-minute call and we will tell you what we would build first.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website presents information. A web application lets users log in and do work: create records, upload files, approve requests, run reports. Websites are mostly content and design. Web applications are mostly data, rules and permissions, which is why they need a database, a back end and proper security.

Will my web application work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Every application we build is responsive, so it adapts to phone, tablet and desktop screens. For field staff we can add progressive web app features: home screen install, push notifications and offline access. If you later need a native app, the same back end and API will serve it.

Can the application connect to my accounting or CRM system?

Usually, yes. We integrate with Odoo 17, ERPNext and Stripe regularly, and most modern systems expose an API. During discovery we check what your current tools allow and tell you honestly if an integration would be fragile or expensive. Where no API exists, scheduled imports and exports are a reliable fallback.

Who hosts the application and keeps it secure?

You own the hosting account; we set it up and can manage it. We deploy with Docker and nginx behind Cloudflare, enable backups and monitoring, and keep the server and dependencies patched. Our monthly automated security review checks TLS, headers, exposed files, DNS records and firewall rules. Canadian hosting is available on request.
